Welcome to my metal art shop…Grizzly Custom Steel! I tame plain sheets of steel into rustic handcrafted metal signs for your home, office and garden.
My metalworking process is rugged, but I love every minute of it. I began my metal taming career freehanding custom artwork and lettering onto sheet metal, then cut everything out by hand which gave me a broad understanding of the magic of cutting metal. I now use a combination of hand and machine cutting which has taken my signs to the next level with straighter, more skilled cuts. The reward is a rustic metal sign that is professional quality; it’s the perfect balance of rugged and precise. After cutting, grinding and taming the metal signs, I treat them to a metal etch which creates the distinct colors you’ll see in my metal art pieces. The colors vary between golds, purples, rusty reds and rich browns that play on the metal’s surface to create natural, unexpected texture. I’ve developed all of my own secret steel etch formulas – nobody else in the industry has them. Because of my etching process, no two of my metal signs will ever be the same. Ever. In fact, the same batch of etch will play on two sheets of steel differently depending on the metal, texture and even the weather. When you purchase a Grizzly Custom Steel metal sign, you get a fully customizable, one-of-a-kind original work of art that is unique and like no other. Speaking of fully customizable, I also do all of the graphic design work in-shop. When I begin working with you, I’ll take your ideas and render them into digital design images using different fonts and elements that you can choose from before I translate them into a steel sign.

Because my metal taming process is so rugged and involved, please respect my production time – go here to see current production times: https://www.grizzlycustomsteel.com/ordering-info/. Production time varies depending on my workload. I enjoy interacting with my customers, but hold back on emailing me about shipping times or the status of your sign. I don't have a secretary and I should be out in my shop…taming steel.
Join me on my facebook page: www.facebook.com/grizzlycustomsteel and Instagram @grizzlycustomsteel to keep up with my work and see an insider’s view of what goes on behind-the-scenes at Grizzly Custom Steel. You’ll also be treated to random pictures of my awesome, smiley pit bull-mix puppy who is the official Grizzly Custom Steel Mascot (which is a very important job indeed).
